– Cesar Chavez

(At SilverPail, we believe that includes ice cream — especially the custom kind.)

How We Create Custom Ice Cream Recipes for Our Clients

From Idea to Ice Cream: The Collaboration Process That Sets Us Apart

At SilverPail, we don’t just make ice cream — we help our partners bring their vision to life, tub by tub, scoop by scoop.

Whether you're launching a private label brand, developing a seasonal range, or introducing something bold and exciting to a new market — we’ve got the people, process, and passion to make it happen.

Here’s what goes into creating a custom recipe with SilverPail Dairy:

1. It Starts With a Conversation

Every great product begins with an idea — and our team is here to listen.

We start by understanding your goals:

  • What flavour profiles do you love?

  • What price points are you targeting?

  • Who is your customer?

  • Do you want it fun, indulgent, premium, or clean-label?

This discovery call helps us align on your brand, your vision, and your market.

2. Research + Trend Forecasting

Our product development team dives into the latest global flavour trends, customer behaviours, and regional preferences.

Whether you’re chasing a classic vanilla with a twist or something bold like matcha crumble or blueberry cheesecake swirl, we’ll help identify what’s going to perform — and how to make it pop.

3. Formulation & Flavour Development

Next, we get to work crafting the formula.

We work closely with global flavour houses and trusted ingredient suppliers to ensure the recipe delivers on taste, texture, and performance — with ingredients that are scalable, affordable, and compliant with your requirements.

You’ll receive initial samples to taste and refine, until it’s exactly right.

4. Operational Testing & Scaling

Once the recipe is approved, we move into operational testing at our Fermoy facility.

We test for:

  • Texture and melt profile

  • Consistency in freezing

  • Stability over shelf life

  • Packaging fit and fill

Our advanced production line allows us to scale with precision — whether it’s 1,000 units or 1 million.

5. Packaging & Presentation Support

Need help with packaging formats, design direction, or shelf presence? We’ve done this for hundreds of partners — and we’re happy to share insights that help your product succeed in-store or online.

We can also accommodate a wide variety of tub sizes, cups, cones, and bulk containers.

6. Long-Term Partnership, Not Just Production

For us, it’s not about one-off runs.
It’s about long-term collaboration, consistent quality, and building something remarkable together.

Many of our private label clients have been with us for years — because when you work with SilverPail, you’re getting more than just a recipe. You’re getting a partner.

Got a Flavour Idea? Let’s Talk.

Whether you’re a supermarket buyer, a foodservice brand, or a founder with a vision — we’d love to hear it.

Our development kitchen is always open (and it smells amazing).
